Ground Rules For Collaboration & Editing.

About your ANZAC Wiki.

This is a Protected wiki. The protected part means only members of the wiki can edit the items and modify the site. It also means that you have to be invited to be able to share in this space. The wiki part means its a collaborative space where we can create and share resources, materials and lessons; have discussions; and make links to other sites.

Editing.

Wikis are very simple in what you can do, and the edit bar is very limited. It has
  • Bullet points and number.
  • Bold italic and underlines.
  • Colour text.
  • Six headings - Headings can be added to the Table of Content widget.
  • Horizontal rule.
  • Add and remove links.
  • Add images and files.
  • Embed media & widgets.
  • Add tables and special charactors.
So the focus is not about formatting and presentation, rather about bare bones communication.

Acceptable Behaviour.

This wiki is about sharing. It is designed so that students and teachers can create content related to our ANZAC Day Centenary Commemorations.

Please contribute, your input is valued and wanted.

We encourage students to have honest and supportive discussions. All comments and discussions should refer to content of the page, Not the author. Please use the discussion tab to post your comments and thoughts.

Please use suitable language. Do not use text or inappropriate language. Inappropriate behaviour may see you removed from the project.

To protect your privacy we ask that you use your first name and the initial of your surname as your user name in this wiki. For example David Jones would have the user name of davidj and Anita Smith would have the user name anitas

Anyone who vandalises the site, uses inappriopriate material or images or flames other members of the site will have their membership removed. There is ZERO tolerance for inappropriate activity. Please note that edits are recorded.

Creating New Pages.

Please feel free to create new pages if you feel they are needed. Please do not delete spaces without consultation.
For some parts of the wiki pages have already been created as templates. Please use these where required.
The templated pages are:
  • My ANZAC Story - this is a page each student creates about their families commemorations of ANZAC Day.
  • My Community ANZAC Story - this is a page that groups of students develop to explain how different groups and organisations within the community commemorate ANZAC day.

Questions.

Please feel free to contact me regarding this wiki by posting a message to me via the discussion boards or directly.

Copyright and Media.

  • Please do not include any material that is protected by copyright.
  • Please reference and acknowledge all images, media etc that you use in your page.
  • Please acknowledge the people who you have spoken to about their ANZAC day experiences.

If you wish to include large files or media please link to them rather than uploading them to this wiki. the wiki has a limited capacity and this will be quickly exceeded if we upload large files. Similarly please avoid "heavy" file formats like BMP, pub etc Images should ideally be in jpg or gif format and have been resampled (made smaller) before uploading to appropriate size for use in the page.
